Trump, GOP Winning In America’s Bluest State

The deep-blue stronghold long thought untouchable by Republicans — is suddenly in play.

A new poll from the conservative Manhattan Institute shows Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) now leading Democrat Gov. Kathy Hochul 43% to 42% in the 2025 New York governor’s race.

That’s right — the GOP may be on the verge of flipping one of America’s most liberal states.

Just two months ago, Hochul enjoyed a 14-point lead according to a Siena College poll. Now that advantage has completely collapsed as voters grow tired of rising crime, crushing taxes, and New York’s far-left politics.

Stefanik Surges as Voters Reject One-Party Rule

Of those surveyed, 9% said they would back another candidate, while 7% remain undecided — numbers that could easily swing the race.

The poll, conducted October 22–26 among 900 likely voters, carries a margin of error of 3.3%.

Stefanik’s campaign celebrated the results as proof that New Yorkers are ready for change.

“New Yorkers of all political stripes are hungry for new, commonsense leadership after decades of failed Democrat rule,” said Bernadette Breslin, Stefanik’s campaign spokeswoman. “Elise Stefanik and the people of New York will win this righteous fight to Save New York.”

Stefanik Fires Back on Fox News

Appearing on Fox & Friends, Stefanik didn’t mince words about her opponent.

“Kathy Hochul is the worst governor in America,” Stefanik declared. “It was only a matter of time before she bent the knee to radical extremists destroying our state.”

Her direct, unapologetic tone has resonated with voters who say they’ve had enough of progressive policies turning once-thriving neighborhoods into unsafe, overtaxed shadows of their former selves.

Democrats in Panic Mode

The Hochul campaign quickly lashed out, calling Stefanik a “Trump enabler” and blaming conservative donors for the momentum shift. But the attacks may be backfiring.

Voters see a governor more focused on political theater than fixing New York’s real problems — skyrocketing crime, massive out-migration, and failing infrastructure.

Even Hochul’s own party appears divided. A separate Manhattan Institute survey shows left-wing candidate Zohran Mamdani beating former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, now running as an Independent, in the New York City mayoral race.

It’s another sign that Democrats are tearing themselves apart while the GOP unites behind a message of safety, prosperity, and accountability.

Trump Effect Hits the Empire State

President Donald Trump’s growing popularity among working-class voters is clearly energizing Republicans across the country — even in deep-blue states.

If Stefanik’s surge continues, it could mark the start of a historic red wave in 2025, proving that no Democrat stronghold is safe when Americans demand law, order, and economic sanity.

“The movement to Save New York is real,” Stefanik said. “And together, we’re going to make this state great again.”
