Trump’s New Border Plan Terrifies Democrats

This is proves Democrats don’t want secure borders.

On Thursday, former President Donald Trump made a bold pledge to significantly increase penalties for illegal immigrants convicted of serious crimes. Speaking at a news conference in Cochise County, Arizona—right near the US-Mexico border—Trump announced his intention to enforce rigorous new sentencing guidelines.

“We will institute severe penalties for illegal alien criminals,” Trump declared. “This includes mandatory 10-year minimum sentences for anyone involved in human smuggling, life sentences for those guilty of child trafficking, and the death penalty for anyone convicted of trafficking in children or women.” He also proposed applying the death penalty to major drug traffickers.

Trump emphasized his commitment to swift and decisive justice, proposing expedited trials for those convicted of killing law enforcement officers, including police, sheriffs, Border Patrol agents, ICE agents, and other officials. “We’ll ensure that these trials are quick and efficient—not dragging on for 15 years,” he said.

Accompanied by law enforcement representatives and family members of victims of migrant-related crimes, Trump inspected unused sections of border wall infrastructure left from his administration. He criticized President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for their handling of the border wall project, describing the remaining steel panels as having been neglected and claiming they were sold at a fraction of their value.

In Georgia, Republican Vice Presidential nominee JD Vance echoed Trump’s border security stance. He praised Trump’s commitment to secure the southern border and criticized recent proposals by some Democrats and Republicans to codify policies like “catch and release.” Vance warned that such policies would allow asylum seekers to be released into the U.S. without proper follow-up, often leading to them disappearing for years.

Former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy also weighed in, noting the irony of the Democrats’ heavily guarded convention. “It’s amusing to see the Democrats using barriers to keep protesters out,” Ramaswamy remarked. “If they showed as much concern for securing our borders as they do for their convention, we might actually see progress in addressing the border crisis.”
