Democrat panic is growing.
Democratic Senator Andy Kim from New Jersey recently expressed his concerns about President Trump’s recent actions, warning that the nation could be on the brink of a constitutional crisis. Speaking on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Kim outlined the growing tension between his party and the Trump administration, particularly in response to various executive orders and policies that he views as overstepping constitutional boundaries.
Kim pointed to several controversial actions, including the potential shutdown of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the controversial appointment of Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which gained access to federal payment systems. These moves have alarmed many lawmakers, with Kim suggesting that such actions could trigger a government shutdown.
Having experienced multiple government shutdowns during his tenure in government, Kim emphasized that he would be the last person to advocate for such drastic measures. However, he argued that the administration’s actions were so clearly unlawful that it was becoming increasingly difficult to support them. “We are at a point where we are on the cusp of a constitutional crisis,” Kim said. “We cannot allow this kind of lawlessness to continue.”
The senator also expressed his dissatisfaction with the administration’s handling of international matters, particularly Trump’s controversial remarks regarding Gaza. Some Democrats have decried his comments as dangerous and divisive, accusing them of being a distraction from the issues within federal agencies. Kim reiterated his stance that the current trajectory of the administration’s policies could not be condoned or allowed to continue.
Despite the sharp criticisms, Kim and his fellow Democrats have vowed to stand firm against what they see as unlawful executive overreach. “We will not support funding the government only for it to be dismantled from within,” he said. “This administration’s actions must be held accountable before any further support is given.”
