Say what?

Former President Donald Trump’s lawyers have made a formal request to meet with Attorney General Merrick Garland, expressing concerns about what they perceive as unjust treatment towards Trump.

On Tuesday, the legal team representing Donald Trump sent a letter addressed to Attorney General Merrick Garland.

In transcript provided by Fox, Trump’s lawyers wrote, “We represent Donald J. Trump, the 45′ President of the United States, in the investigation currently being conducted by the Special Counsel’s Office. Unlike President Biden, his son Hunter, and the Biden family, President Trump is being treated unfairly. No President of the United States has ever, in the history of our country, been baselessly investigated in such an outrageous and unlawful fashion. We request a meeting at your earliest convenience to discuss the ongoing injustice that is being perpetrated by your Special Counsel and his prosecutors.”

According to a reliable source familiar with the investigation, the letter arrives at a time when Special Counsel Jack Smith has been diligently working to conclude his investigation into the case involving classified documents associated with Donald Trump in recent weeks.

The timing and outcome of Special Counsel Jack Smith’s investigation, as well as any potential plans for prosecution regarding Donald Trump, remain uncertain.

In November 2022, Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed Jack Smith as the special counsel following an FBI raid conducted on August 8, 2022, at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. The purpose of the raid was to search for missing classified documents.
