Trump Cherishes America’s Police

Trump’s Administration is backing the blue.

“Deputy Henderson was killed for wearing the badge—and weak political leadership helped make it possible,” says Vance.

Vice President JD Vance delivered a powerful rebuke of the left’s anti-police narrative this week, placing blame on political leaders who have spent years vilifying law enforcement. His remarks came just days after Hamilton County Special Deputy Larry Henderson was deliberately run down and killed while directing traffic near the University of Cincinnati.

“He was doing his job—protecting families—and he was murdered for it,” Vance said during a National Police Week breakfast at his official residence. “Yes, the criminal who did it bears responsibility. But so do the politicians and activists who’ve made law enforcement a punching bag in this country.”

Left-Wing Rhetoric Turning Deadly, Vance Warns

According to prosecutors, 46-year-old Rodney Hinton targeted Henderson in a revenge-fueled attack after police fatally shot Hinton’s 18-year-old son—who was allegedly armed and fleeing in a stolen vehicle.

Hinton has pleaded not guilty to aggravated murder and faces trial in February 2026.

Jay McDonald, President of the Ohio Fraternal Order of Police, called it what it is: “This was a targeted, cold-blooded execution of a law enforcement officer.”

Trump Administration Takes Bold Action to Protect Police

Vance reminded officers that President Trump is leading the charge to restore respect for law enforcement and end the wave of soft-on-crime policies sweeping blue states.

He pointed to a new executive order signed in April that will:

  • Expand legal protections for officers wrongfully sued.
  • Limit frivolous lawsuits that punish cops for doing their jobs.
  • Cut red tape from Washington bureaucrats standing in their way.

“When officers are on the front lines, they shouldn’t have to look over their shoulder in fear of lawsuits,” Vance said. “This administration backs the blue—plain and simple.”

New Law Would Send Cop-Killers to Prison for Life

In honor of Deputy Henderson, Sen. Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio, introduced the Larry Henderson Act, which would increase mandatory sentencing for anyone convicted of assaulting a federal officer.

Under the proposed bill:

  • Convicted attackers would face a minimum of 20 years in prison—up from the current 1 to 8 years.
  • Repeat offenders and cop-killers could face life sentences without parole.

“If you assault a police officer, you should expect to lose your freedom—permanently,” Moreno said in a press statement. “Enough is enough.”

National Police Week: A Time to Honor Heroes

Vance is also scheduled to speak at the 44th Annual National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service at the U.S. Capitol—an event honoring fallen heroes who gave their lives in the line of duty.

“These officers deserve our respect, our gratitude, and our unwavering support—not protests and persecution,” Vance said.

Conclusion: America Must Choose—Back the Blue or Enable Chaos

As anti-police rhetoric continues to claim innocent lives, the message from conservative leaders like JD Vance and President Trump is clear: law enforcement isn’t the problem—it’s the solution.

America can either continue down the dangerous path of demonizing the men and women in blue—or stand up and say “enough is enough.”
